
Jim Totty
Investment Committee
Jim has been a private markets investor for 25 years managing capital including institutional LP funds and corporate venture capital. His investments have included Sustainable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Clean Industry, Agriculture, Water and Mobility. He has held a number of investment committee positions and has sat on portfolio company boards. Having managed and successfully exited investments at all stages from seed VC to private equity and infrastructure, he has wide experience of the whole private markets ecosystem and the fund raising journey that new climatetech businesses must travel.
Jim holds a PhD in quantum and energy technology, and an MSc in semiconductor physics from Imperial College London, and an MA from the University of Cambridge. He is a CFA charterholder and is one of CFA UK’s sustainability and private markets champions.
Jim first worked in climate science in 1989, and since then has seen many successful businesses in climate technology. He is passionate about finding new solutions that address unsolved problems in sustainability, and deliver environmental and social impact.
